Next class date: Wednesday, May 5 at 7 pm. Zoom link we’ll be sent via email after you register.
This is a very basic but also fun introduction to the symbols that underlie the signs of the zodiac. I am not a professional astrologer but, like Carl Jung (who did a horoscope for each of his clients) I have had a lifelong curiosity and interest in his “archetypes” of the unconscious and their influence on our behavior. No knowledge or “belief” in astrology is required, though I imagine everyone will know at least their “sun sign.”  I will offer references for anyone who wants to do their chart online, or learn more about archetypal astrology.

If you are skeptical or just curious you are welcome to read An Introduction to Archetypal Astrology by Richard Tarnas, a cultural historian known for his books The Passion of the Western Mind: Understanding the Ideas That Have Shaped Our World View and Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of a New World View.  Tarnas (pictured below) is the founding director of the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness (PCC) graduate program at the California Institute of Integral Studies , and is a colleague of Brian Swimme (many SL members are familiar with his work on the New Story of Evolution).

The class will take place on Zoom for 90 minutes and the class is limited to 10 people so that everyone will have time to share and participate.
